Going Home Greyhounds participates in many different types of activities. The following is a brief explanation of how you and your dog(s) can help out.
In order to help us with Meet and Greets, you need to become a volunteer and have a greyhound that will enjoy being in a crowd. There are some guidelines and GHG's policies and procedures you need to be aware of when dealing with the public. Please visit our Meet and Greet volunteer section of the Web site for specific details. This is our time to introduce the public to adopted greyhounds, pass out informational pamphlets and answer questions for potential adopters. Unfortunately, we can only use a few people and a few dogs at each event, so please be considerate of restrictions placed on us and only come if you are scheduled to participate in that event. The combination of dogs and the public will inevitably put us in a liability situation if we are not careful.
We participate in various community parades, animal walks, festivals, and events during the summer months and on particular holidays throughout the year. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join us for these activities. These are times to come visit, meet other greyhound adopters, and have fun. The more the merrier!
