Savannah

SAVANNAH (Fear Not)

I haven't been able to bring myself to type this out until now, and
it's still hard. We adopted Savannah at 7 years old in the summer of
2007. She was gentle and sweet (though could be very stubborn),
terrified of cats, and loved her squeaky toys. Somehow she always knew
when I came home with a new toy for her and would wait while I
unloaded shopping bags. Savannah went through several nicknames in our
house, but the funniest was "Banana" which came about when one of us
was calling about buying bananas from the kitchen-- and in ran
Savannah, thinking she heard her name. She loved standing in the sun
being brushed and she loved leaping into the air and spinning to get a
treat. We lost Savannah to kidney disease after only two years. When
treatments weren't helping and she could no longer eat, we had to let
her go on June 22, 2009, which turned out to be her 9th birthday.
We'll always miss her.
