Dani is one sweet girl who is ready for the world to meet her! She is a big tail wagger, loves to give everyone kisses and has the cutest overbite ever! She was a momma dog at Tristate and broke her leg in September, but her cast is off and she's recovering nicely.
UPDATE 12-11-11:
Jags Danica (Dani) is a happy little girl who does
everything with great enthusiasm. She loves toys, look out if she starts
gathering them, they will soon be flying through the air one after another.
When she is done playing, she will try to climb into your lap and smother you
with little greyhound kisses, or she will lay on her back with her long legs
stretched out.
Dani broke her right rear leg in September, but that
doesn't slow her down one bit. She loves to run several laps around the yard every
morning.
At this point we are going to say that Dani needs to be supervised around cats because she has had
different reactions to individual cats so far in foster care. She is chasing our more active cat from time
to time, but shows no interest in the less active cats in the house. She is
good with other greyhounds, but has had some issues with small dogs on walks
when they approach her head on (which is a threatening way to approach in dog
language to begin with). Dani is
learning to walk nicely on a leash and seems fascinated by all of the things
she sees during her walks.
If you want a confident, lively little greyhound who
wants to be the center of attention and who will be very devoted to you, Dani
may be the right one for you.
UPDATE 12-20-11: Dani's leg is not healing properly so she had to undergo another surgery today to align the break and fuse the joint. She is expected to be in a cast for the next 4-6 weeks and won't be available for adoption until she is released by the orthopedic specialist. Although she has been in a lot of pain, she's a cooperative patient and loves to give kisses to everyone.
UPDATE 1-7-12: Dani has moved to a new foster home and is doing great. She had her first cast change and her leg is healing just as the specialist would like it to. She is getting along with all the other greys perfectly and has not been chasing any of the cats in the house at all. She really loves to play with her toys, so it's hard to keep her calm during the healing process. This little girl just loves life and everyone in it!
